Wonderful. 13 Weeks

Yesterday we had our first appointment with the doctor. I had been worried since most girls I've talked to seem to have doctor appointment between 6-8 weeks and then their second appointment around 11-12 weeks and we were thinking I was around 13 and a half weeks. I actually called the nurse a couple weeks ago and asked if this was okay and she said it would be fine. I was so nervous.... so so nervous. I was partially nervous because what if the pregnancy test and the missed periods were just a fluke and there wasn't really a baby in there... and I had never had a pap smear and I was prepared for something awful.

We got there and checked in and then they had me.... TMI....... pee in a cup and I'm really just so proud of myself because I didn't pee on myself or spill or anything. I then got weighed and then gave me a gown and a sheet.

The doctor came in and told me it was normal to be nervous. He said "You're here because you're pregnant right?" I responded with "I sure hope so." He told me he would leave no doubt after the appointment. The pap smear really wasn't bad at all I don't know what I was so worried about. After the pap smear he did an ultrasound. It was the most wonderful thing I've ever seen.

I didn't know they were going to do an ultrasound but I think they wanted to measure to make sure of my due date since I wasn't really sure of a couple of things. They found the baby right away. Chris said he thought it would take a little while to find the baby but was amazed when he saw the heart beating right away. He also said he didn't think it would look so much like a baby. It was incredible we could see our baby's face and hands and arms and legs and baby was moving all around and waving it was such a tender moment. I didn't expect to get emotional but I cried as soon as I saw the baby. I feel so blessed to be carrying this little one. I love our baby so much. I wasn't sure I really felt connected for a while and was worried but seeing our child made everything real and it feels wonderful.

The doctor said everything looks great and that I'm right what we were thinking I am. So today I'm 13 weeks 4 days. He said that we will be able to find out what we're having at about 20 weeks. So not our next appointment but the next. I'm so excited for everything... well almost everything to come :)

Hogan's Hero's.... Champions!

I am so proud of Chris!

Chris's hockey team won their league championship game last night! They played against the apex team who had at least twice as many players. The final score was 3 to 1.  I also have to mention that Chris's team was just put together because they were all people who didn't have a team and the apex team has been together for a couple of years. Hogan's Hero's were amazing this year.

Lots of family came to support Chris. We are so blessed with awesome family who would take time to come to his game and drive all the way to Provo just for that. It really meant a lot to both of us to have that support.

We're Expecting!

I'm about ten and a half weeks along and I am due the first part of October... we think. Its the one month that I didn't track things and I really don't remember much of the end of December or the beginning of January with us moving and getting settled in our new place. We are so excited to welcome a new baby into our family. We haven't told Brooklyn yet and this will be her second sibling that will be born this year. She will be doubling her siblings this year. I just hope she isn't too tired of babies by the time our baby comes along. She is such a sweet girl and know she will be such a big helper with her new little brother or sister.

I haven't blogged in a while. It's been hard for a couple of reasons I feel like I haven't had much to talk about besides being pregnant and I haven't felt super great.

The weekend we found out I was pregnant I had the flu. I haven't had the flu in a long time and I felt like I was dying. When I finally took the pregnancy test I was worried that I didn't have the flu and I was just going to feel that sick for the rest of my pregnancy. Luckily it was just the flu and it went away after a few days.

I had a hard time with morning sickness for the first several weeks but I'm starting to feel a little bit better. I still feel sick off and on but it seems to be a little bit better when I don't go too long in between eating. I haven't really had any food cravings but some things that I used to love have just sounded gross... Like chocolate. I usually love chocolate but it really hasn't sounded good at all since I've been pregnant. I can handle chocolate ice cream and a few other things but I really haven't wanted any chocolate... which is weird for me. In fact when I first found out I was pregnant I had just posted about the Hello Kitty cake pops and I couldn't even look at the picture on our blog without feeling sick. Kind of funny if you ask me.

Some people shared some stories of things happening like there not really being a baby and other scary stories and it made me paranoid. I have told Chris numerous times that maybe once we see the baby or I can feel it move it will feel more real to me. I've always been a worrier and I don't think the hormones are really helping me feel any better lol.

I've felt like a crazy person. I don't always feel rational and tears seem to come easily.

We were called to be sunbeam teachers as soon as we moved into our new ward. In our old ward I actually thought it would be fun to be sunbeam teachers. When we moved into this ward I wanted the chance to get to know people in our ward and I knew being in Primary that was less likely to happen. I should probably make more of an effort to get to know people but I'm not really sure how. It just feels harder now being tired all the time and all the other joys that seem to come along with the first trimester :) I'm not even sure what most of the kids in our Primary class's last names are or what their parents names are. We have been in sunbeams for a few months and just barely got a class roll last week. I think the only way I am going to make it through this calling is with the Lords help.

Valentines Day

Chris gave me beautiful flowers and some super cute shoes. I am the luckiest girl in the world.  Chris has been helping me so much over the last few weeks. It seems like we've had so much going on. Brooklyn had a birthday and I had the flu and he has done so much to take care of me and the house. He is always so patient with me and I feel so blessed that he puts up with me every day.
Brookie came by Chris's work and brought us tinkerbell valentines. She is such a sweetheart. I love my family.

Hello Kitty Cake Pops

This year I got the great idea to make Hello Kitty cake pops for Brooklyn's birthday... haha not such a great idea. They were kind of difficult to make. Here are some pictures. I'll post more about Brookie's birthday later.
Brooklyn helped me and wanted to put a smiley face on one so I let her.

Recent Happenings

So many things have happened since I last posted.

We moved into our house in Saratoga Springs. I moved to work in American Fork and switched work schedules... okay so maybe it wasn't that many things.

You wouldn't think getting up an hour earlier for would be that difficult or be much of adjustment but it is. I still think its definitely worth it though being able to leave work earlier is so nice I feel like I can get so many things done when I get off. Another thing that is nice about working in American Fork is there are more people that work in American Fork and so lunch schedules are a lot more flexible... soo nice.

I do however miss my Amy :) hehe

Miss Brooklyn is growing and learning so much all the time. This past weekend she learned how to say Despicable and was so excited about it. She wanted to watch the movie Despicable Me but kept telling me she didn't know that word. I worked with her and she figured it out. She showed everyone how she could say it.

Another quick story about Brookie... On Friday Chris and Brooklyn didn't get home until really late and I was already in bed. Brooklyn brought me one of her dolls to sleep with and she tucked me in and then as she stood by the door of our bedroom blew me a kiss and told me feliz cupleaƱos. She then told me "That means goodnight." Oh really? and she told me "Yes, well it means Happy Birthday for Boots but it means goodnight for me."

I also asked Brooklyn what she wants to be when she grows up and she said "a girl who goes to school" and then I asked what she wants to be after she is done with school and she told me she wants to be a cleaner. I'm definitely going to have to remember that for future reference.

Sing Star... Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

When Brooklyn was here we broke out the sing star game.
We had tons of fun even though we don't really know all the words.
