B-17 WWII Planes

A few weeks ago we went to see some old planes used during WWII in Salt Lake. Chris's Grandpa actually flew in a B-17 in WWII he was the ball gunner (I think that's what it's called) its this tiny little ball pit on the bottom of the plane. He was shot down and was a prisoner of war and only him and one other guy in his crew survived. I don't remember all the details and I feel like Chris would be a lot more qualified to share his Grandpa's story.

Pregnancy Photo's

So we started taking pictures but I forgot to post them and I don't totally remember how far along I was.

Easter Fun

This year we had Brooklyn for Easter. We had so much fun. On Saturday we took her to a neighborhood Easter egg hunt. We talked to Brooklyn about what she was supposed to do when they said they could go. They also had a special area that was just for kids 3 and under and Chris explained to Brooklyn that she couldn't get eggs from this area that was meant just for little kids. Well when they told the kids they could go Brooklyn just started running as fast as she could over all the candy and past a bunch of eggs. Chris had to run to catch up to her and told her again that she was supposed to be picking up the eggs.

Here are some pictures from Easter weekend.

14 Weeks

I've had a few people ask if I'm showing yet. I think if you see me and know I'm pregnant you can tell a little bit otherwise I just look like I've gained some weight. Hopefully soon it will look more like I'm pregnant and less like I'm fat haha.

Just some things I want to remember :)

On Tuesday after we had our wonderful Doctor appointment we decided we wanted to go do something. When we got home I put my new pregnancy jeans... I'm not looking super pregnant yet but I'm feeling super fat lol. My old pants are just kind of tight and uncomfortable. Anyway back to the story. So I put on my new jeans that I had only worn once. After I got dressed I bent down to pick something up and they ripped! I had a huge hole in the leg. Luckily I called the store and they let me exchange the pants for another pair and told me if something like that happens again they will let me get something else.

During the week two ladies from the relief society came over to give me my visiting teaching assignment. One of the ladies brought her little boy with her who just happens to be in our primary class. They asked me how things are going and I told them I'm pregnant and that we had an ultra sound the day before and got to see the baby. I've been so excited I've been telling everyone. Her little boy asked what we're naming the baby and she said we don't know yet.

Since one of the boys in our class knew we're going to have a baby I decided to tell the rest of the class. On Sunday in our Primary class when I said something about how I'm going to have a baby one of the boys got so excited and told me how his mom is going to have a baby too and then he came up and put his hand on my tummy. I thought it was funny and cute.

Wonderful. 13 Weeks

Yesterday we had our first appointment with the doctor. I had been worried since most girls I've talked to seem to have doctor appointment between 6-8 weeks and then their second appointment around 11-12 weeks and we were thinking I was around 13 and a half weeks. I actually called the nurse a couple weeks ago and asked if this was okay and she said it would be fine. I was so nervous.... so so nervous. I was partially nervous because what if the pregnancy test and the missed periods were just a fluke and there wasn't really a baby in there... and I had never had a pap smear and I was prepared for something awful.

We got there and checked in and then they had me.... TMI....... pee in a cup and I'm really just so proud of myself because I didn't pee on myself or spill or anything. I then got weighed and then gave me a gown and a sheet.

The doctor came in and told me it was normal to be nervous. He said "You're here because you're pregnant right?" I responded with "I sure hope so." He told me he would leave no doubt after the appointment. The pap smear really wasn't bad at all I don't know what I was so worried about. After the pap smear he did an ultrasound. It was the most wonderful thing I've ever seen.

I didn't know they were going to do an ultrasound but I think they wanted to measure to make sure of my due date since I wasn't really sure of a couple of things. They found the baby right away. Chris said he thought it would take a little while to find the baby but was amazed when he saw the heart beating right away. He also said he didn't think it would look so much like a baby. It was incredible we could see our baby's face and hands and arms and legs and baby was moving all around and waving it was such a tender moment. I didn't expect to get emotional but I cried as soon as I saw the baby. I feel so blessed to be carrying this little one. I love our baby so much. I wasn't sure I really felt connected for a while and was worried but seeing our child made everything real and it feels wonderful.

The doctor said everything looks great and that I'm right what we were thinking I am. So today I'm 13 weeks 4 days. He said that we will be able to find out what we're having at about 20 weeks. So not our next appointment but the next. I'm so excited for everything... well almost everything to come :)

Hogan's Hero's.... Champions!

I am so proud of Chris!

Chris's hockey team won their league championship game last night! They played against the apex team who had at least twice as many players. The final score was 3 to 1.  I also have to mention that Chris's team was just put together because they were all people who didn't have a team and the apex team has been together for a couple of years. Hogan's Hero's were amazing this year.

Lots of family came to support Chris. We are so blessed with awesome family who would take time to come to his game and drive all the way to Provo just for that. It really meant a lot to both of us to have that support.
