We're engaged! Long story!

Chris is tricky I had no idea anything was coming. In fact I had tried to get out of working on Saturday where he was planning on bringing me flowers, I told him I didn't want flowers anymore a couple weeks before valentines day, I told him not to dress up for a play that night, my mom wanted us to come home for the weekend, and it seemed like everything I did was trying to ruin his plans but I had no idea.

So Saturday morning I got up and went to work... it was a long boring day at work. That is until Chris showed up. I thought it was just someone thinking the lobby was open when he pulled up. I'm glad it was him I thought he was just coming to visit me. Then he went back to his car and got 18 red roses. They were so beautiful. He had told me flowers were stupid when I had told him I didn't want them anymore little did I know he had already ordered them. After work we went to Ian and Amy's to see their new puppy and got Josh his birthday present. I then had to go home and get ready. I tried to get Chris to just wait for me to get ready but he was determined to go home which was fine with me and I didn't think anything of it. What I didn't know is he was picking up the ring and getting more flowers.

I took my sweet time getting ready and when I was just about ready I texted Chris and let him know I was ready and he could come over. He then said he still needed to iron his shirt. I thought he just waited til I said I was ready and then he decided to get ready. It was taking him forever to get ready.

Chris came and got me and we drove to Salt Lake to see Romeo and Juliet (very romantic :) Chris seemed a little antsy but I thought it was just because he had never been to a play before and lets be honest what guy really wants to go see Romeo and Juliet. Once the play was over we got in the car. I was oblivious but Chris said he was nervous once we got in the car that meant it was "go time".

On the ride I was so tired, slouched down in my seat, and I had a headache. Chris kept looking over to check if I was asleep. When we got close to Provo he took the University pkwy exit, which isn't normal as he usually takes the center street exit. He told me he was just gonna go this way this time. I still had no idea what he was planning. Then when we got to the street he would normally turn on to take me home he kept going straight he said he wasn't ready to take me home just yet. As soon as we started heading to "our" park I started getting nervous. We had had a little tiff last week about the ring and I told him to just get me a fake one. I was thinking he had just decided to propose with a fake ring even though he really didn't want to but I had made him and ruined everything.

When we got to the park there was snow everywhere (it had been a blizzard all day). He wanted to get out and walk. I told him there was lots of snow and he said the sidewalks were probably fine. So I got out of the car, he got his coat and a blanket out of the trunk (with flowers wrapped inside and I didn't know). We walked over to the sidewalk which was covered with snow. I was freezing so we just went back to the car. I tried to get Chris to give me the blanket but he wouldn't he just shut the door. He then went to the trunk and did something and got back in the car. He told me he thought he had another blanket in the trunk and asked if I still wanted the blanket which I took and wrapped around my legs. We then drove to the parking lot across the street from the temple.

As we were sitting there I was telling him how beautiful the flowers were and how sweet it was of him to take me to the play. I told him what a special day it had been and that I love him very much. About that time he started pulling something out of his coat. He told me he had some more flowers for me. He had three pink roses he gave me one and said "this is for our past" gave me the next one "this is for our present" the last one "this is for our future. It was so sweet. He then told me he had something else for me and he pulled out the ring box. By this time he was shaking I was so surprised. We hugged and I cried just a little bit. My ring is so beautiful and I was so excited. It is so nice to be official and it had been so exciting to tell everyone.

Brooklyn's Birthday

We were so lucky to get Brooklyn for her birthday. She wasn't feeling good but was still so excited for her Nemo cake and loved singing happy birthday. She is so cute! We feel so blessed to have her in our lives.
