The Little Drummer Boys

A week ago we finished working on our Readyman and then Chris let the boys play his drums. They had lots of fun and we will definitely have to do it again.

I had to post both pictures because he's smiling in this picture but there are crazy all over the picture too.

Last night the boys caroled for cans and then we met back at the church for awards and refreshments. We started to go out but it was way to cold for Gavin so we met everyone back at the church. We are losing two scouts this month. Webelos will definitely be different without those boys. Good job to all our boys on all their hard work!

Donna's Getting Married!

Saturday my Mom (Debbie) and I threw Donna a bridal shower. We are so excited for her and even more excited that she's getting married in Utah. Donna has been in France for the last couple of years as a nanny/teacher to the Mission Presidents kids. Her fiancee (Roby) is from Italy so they will be moving back to Europe as soon as Donna is done with her cancer treatments.

I was so worried no one was going to come because of the snow... but thankfully quite a few people came and we had a great time. My mom also made a super cute decoration for the front door that looked like a bouquet and a veil but because there was so much snow outside I didn't get a picture of it. :(

Mentos favors made by Debbie and her "granddaughter"
So cute!
Donna's Friend Cindy brought the veggies.
The jar full of sticks was for everyone to write down advice or date ideas for Donna. We made her read them out loud and only embarrassed her a little bit.
You can't see it very well but the star cookies have gold sprinkles.
I thought the Miss to Mrs banner turned out super cute.
Flowers also made by Debbie and Granddaughter

For the sign in everyone left their lips and their signature. I thought it turned out super cute.
These ladies took the purse game very seriously.
We had chairs but everyone sat on the floor anyway.
The Mother of the Bride won the What's in Your Purse game.
Donna got some fun and thoughtful gifts and was only mildly embarrassed.
Me and my Mom with the beautiful Bride.
Thank you Donna for letting us throw a shower for you and for driving all the way in the snow. Thanks to everyone else that was able to make it out in the snow to help us celebrate!

It Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

We started decorating before Thanksgiving But shhhhh don't tell anyone. My sister told me I wasn't allowed to do Christmasy things before Thanksgiving. Oops.

The Saturday morning before Thanksgiving Chris cooked his trial brine(d) turkey. It turned out pretty good but we learned to brine it for a little less time. The turkey he cooked for Thanksgiving was perfect!

Christmas this year from my parents was actually our trip to Disneyland but I got another present... their piano. I am so excited to have a piano in my home. I feel like it's been forever since I've really been able to play. It is a little sad though knowing the piano isn't at my parents anymore... it was just a part of their home so it's weird that it's not there anymore.

Saturday night (before Thanksgiving) we got out the Christmas tree. We wanted to put it up when we had Brooklyn. She always loves to help decorate the tree. Gavin was more interested in the stocking and trying to put them on his feet. Christmas will be lots of fun this year.

Sunday was Pie night. Gavin fell asleep in the car of course. We had so much fun. I made the pie and soup when we got home from Church and I totally forgot that the pie has to cook for an hour and fifteen minutes.... silly me. Luckily we were able to cook the pie at Mimi and Grandpa's house when we got there. I used the leftover pie dough from when I made chicken pot pies a couple weeks ago. I almost felt like I was cheating not making the dough that day.  It definitely didn't look as pretty but if everyone was telling the truth they said it still tasted good which is really the only thing that matters.

I stole this picture from Beth... so thank you Beth :)

And Because I don't remember where these pictures fit I'm putting them in at the end :)

Footie jammies, one snow boot and one church shoe on the wrong foot. He is awesome.

Holding Grandpas new (and not loaded) toy.

Daddy and Brooklyn got put on dish duty so of course Gavin had to help too.

Gavin likes to sing into the "secret microphone" on this guitar.
We moved Gavin to a toddler bed and apparently sleeping on our floor is better then sleeping in the toddler bed.
