Brooklyn's Best Friend

Brooklyn is so funny. This weekend at the wedding reception she had so much fun with Chan (who belongs to Chris and Brooke) Brookie kept telling everyone about her best friend and she followed him around all night. They live in New Mexico and so we don't get to see them as much. I think Brooklyn has fun when she isn't the only child at our family functions.

She also got to see McKenna (she loves McKenna). When McKenna went to go get some food Brookie got really sad and looked at me and said I won't get to see her again. I think we'll have to have the girls spend the night sometime.

Our Christmas Tree

Christmas Time

We put up our tree last night. It was really fun and its so cute. We're still looking for a new tree skirt (I'm not really a fan of the one Chris had). We also got some cinnamon scented pine cones... our house smells delicious.

We get Brooklyn this weekend which we are very excited about we haven't seen her much the last couple of months. I think its difficult for her when she doesn't get to come as often.

Anywho... We'll be doing some Christmas shopping with her this weekend so she can get Daddy and some other family members gifts. This is the last free weekend we have until Christmas. Next weekend Brian and Rachel are getting married, then the weekend after that Amanda and David are getting married. And then its CHRISTMAS!!!

What a wonderful time of year! I love that I am almost done Christmas shopping and its only the first week in December. Yay.... Pictures coming soon!

Moab

Columbus Day weekend my parents took our family to Moab. We had so much fun. We stayed in a condo just outside of town. It was really nice... definitely better then a hotel.

We left Friday after work and got to Moab late that night. We used our new GPS. I'd never used one it amazed me how it just took us to exactly where we needed to be.

Saturday Morning we were supposed to get up early enough to pick up the 4wheelers at 8am. Chris and I were awake but no one else was so I finally woke everyone up. We didn't get out of the house as early as we had planned. It was still morning when we left amazingly. I'm not exactly sure where it was that we went 4wheeling but it was so much fun. We only got lost a few times. We got two vehicles called Rhino's and two regular 4wheelers. They were all so much fun. The ride on the Rhino's was surprisingly smooth compared the the 4wheelers. Chris and I switched off with Amanda and David for a while. We stopped at this one place called Wipeout hill. We saw one dirt bike rider by himself go up and down the hill it was incredible. We also watched several jeeps go up and down the hill. Dad actually knew a few of the guys that were driving the jeeps and so he took a turn riding up and down the hill as did Amanda and David. I was too big of a chicken to try it.

We didn't do much on Sunday we were all pretty sore from our adventure on Saturday. We went to church, played games, watched movies and just hung out. David had to work on Monday so he and Amanda left Sunday night.

Monday morning we got up and Chris made a really yummy breakfast. I was supposed to help but really didn't do anything. We cleaned up the condo and got ready to leave. We stopped in town and a cafe that makes Gluten Free muffins every morning. We got a pumpkin spice muffin...... it was DELICIOUS!!! I really wouldn't have been able to tell it was gluten free (and vegan) if they hadn't told me.

Chris hadn't been to Arches before so we wanted to make sure to stop there. We drove up to Delicate Arch and took the hike up to it. I'd never been on the hike to the arch before. We saw petroglyphs on the way. It was quite the little hike. Part of the hike was pretty steep but it was definitely worth it. The arch was beautiful and it was really quite a neat experience to see the arch that is on the Utah Licence plates that close. I think I would like to spend more time hiking through Arches. After we were done at Delicate Arch as we were driving back we stopped at Balanced Rock (at least that's what I think its called). I had really big blisters on my heels and couldn't hike anymore. Chris and Dad hiked up to it and took some pictures. Chris said that at one point they were standing under the rock and would have been smashed if it decided to fall. I'm glad it didn't. Once we were done we went to lunch/dinner at a Mexican restaurant in town (mmmm).

On our way out of town we stopped at Dead Horse Point. It was beautiful. We walked around for a little bit and then Chris and Dad went mountain biking. I started to get a little worried when it was getting dark and they weren't back. But they made it they said it was a really pretty ride and there were a few look out points along the way. Too bad neither of them took a camera.

We got home pretty late, were sore and tired but it was so worth it. We had such a good weekend and really appreciate my parents for taking us on this vacation.

The Last Couple of Weeks

We have been doing so many fun things lately.

Last week our good friends the Marshall's took us out to dinner on Friday. Chris, Miriam and Jared all love sushi. We went to Sakura which is where Chris and I went on our first date. Since I got the grill they we all sat there and we got a little show with dinner. We took Brooklyn with us and she liked the food, even some of the sushi which was surprising.

Saturday we went to the BYU game it was such a disappointment. We ended up leaving early. Brookie stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house while we went to the game. Andrea was so nice to watch her. While Andrea was watching Brookie she had her only accident of the whole weekend. She pooped a little in her panties and then had a major blowout mostly in the toilet. I guess it still got all over. I'm glad I missed that one. hehe

Chris started hockey on Tuesday. He's had a cold for the past little while and is still getting over it. I was worried about him the whole time... afraid he was killing himself. It seems like most of his team hasn't played much but it sounds like everyone is pretty nice and I'm sure they'll have fun. It was fun going to the game even if they did lose.

Yesterday we went to Five Guys ...... mmmmmm..... and then we went to see Jim Gaffigan in Salt Lake. We went with Ian and cute pregnant Amy. Jim Gaffigan is so funny. I haven't heard a whole lot of his stuff but recognized at least one of his bits (Hot Pockets :). Chris said most of the stuff he hadn't heard but he closed with some of his older stuff. It was amazing he went on for at least an hour and a half without stopping and didn't even have a water bottle... aaaamazing.

Brooklyn's Funny

We've been trying to help with potty training Brooklyn. Its really difficult since we don't get her very often. She's been struggling with it but has been getting better. One of the days we had her right after she had her bath she said she needed to go potty and she held it til she got on the toilet. I think it helped that she didn't have a pull up on and it will probably help if she wears panties more often. Pull ups are just to close to being the same as diapers.

Last week while Brookie was staying with us Daddy asked her if she had to go to potty and she said no. We've been trying to keep her pull ups dry. Not very long after he asked her she had wet in her pull ups when Chris was asking her about it she said "Daddy it was a assanick". She repeated it a few times before he realized she was saying accident.

We love her little voice and the funny way she says things.

We went shopping and she loves the shopping carts with the cars on the front. She hopped right in and bucked herself up. After a little bit she was saying something we couldn't tell what she was saying... it sounded like some naughty words so we had to get closer and read her lips. She was saying "I want to buckle Jessica up". She then told me to get in the little car... unfortunately I wouldn't fit hehe.

Sometimes we like to teach her words and help her pronounce words she already knows. For example last week I was trying to help her with the word Yellow. She pronounces it Lellow. I kept saying "say Yell O " She gave me the funniest look and said "Yell?". She can say Yellow slowly but goes back to Lellow if she goes fast.

She is growing up way to fast. She loves Princesses and being pretty. She really knows her shapes and is getting pretty good at her colors. She loves for me to sing her a song before she goes to bed. For the most part she is really good at going to bed in her own bed without complaining except when she "just wants to lay with Jessica". She looks so much like her Daddy and is definitely his little princess. We miss seeing her every weekend and look forward to the time we do get to spend with her.

Our Wedding :)

Our Wedding was the most wonderful day. Everything seemed to go perfectly. We were a little worried about the weather. When we got to the temple it looked like it was going to start but by the time we came out of the temple it was beautiful and we got some incredible pictures (thanks to Ken Hoglund).

I had heard from some people that have been married in the Salt Lake Temple that they felt like they were being herded like cattle, but I would have to disagree with them. Of course there were quite a few other brides there but I expected that. But everyone I saw and that helped us made me feel so special. It was perfect.

It was really fun to come out of the temple with everyone there cheering. Brooklyn was pretty tired all day and had a hard time at first with us being dressed up and the fact that Chris and I were the center of attention. But Brookie loved my dress and kept telling me I was a princess. She is such a sweet girl and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. I'm so glad she was able to be there the day we got married.

After the wedding and pictures we went to the Faust's house for the luncheon. It was beautiful. They were so nice to share their backyard with us and I'm so grateful for everyone that helped with the food and everything.

Pretty much right after that we headed over to the reception center and got ready. Everything looked so beautiful. Some of the things weren't quite like I had envisioned but it was still wonderful. We are so grateful to all of those who were able to make it to our wedding, you really all made it so special.

I also want to thank my parents who spent sooo much time and money on our wedding. My parents are amazing I am so blessed to have them as my parents. I've probably forgotten to thank some people so if you're reading this and I left you out I'm very sorry... Thank you everyone!

Well lots of things happened but I think I'll let the pictures tell the rest. Sorry they are in a backwards order but it would take way to long to change the order of all the pictures.
