Mommy and Munch Time

Daddy had a work thing Friday night.... also known as a Grizzlies game. Haha.. but it really was for work.

Anywayyyyy... I took the kids out for a date. We had a great time. We saw Mr. Peabody and Sherman. We all loved it. If you're looking for a movie to take the kids to I highly recommend it.

Brooklyn ate half of that popcorn by herself. I wish getting her to eat other things was that easy.
After the movie we came home, got our jammies on, all ready for bed and then had gymnastics practice. These little munchkins are so funny.

Saturday Brooklyn baked us some Double Chocolate Muffins. She loves baking and wants to help me with my cakes all the time. She said that when she grows up she wants to have a baking shop and I can come work with her :)

Brooklyn was so sweet to let Gavin help.
And then to top it all off Brooklyn and I went and got a little pedicure. One funny thing.... Brooklyn is way way too small for the chairs but the guy still turned on the massager and so really all she could feel was the seat squishing her legs and then every once in a while the part that pushes up on your bum. She couldn't stop giggling.... but once the guy started on her feet she wouldn't even let me talk to her and kept shushing me. It was so funny.... apparently getting your feet massaged is serious business. She picked out a blue sparkly polish and got some super cute flowers painted on.

Booo Hisss

I really thought we were done with the whole asthma treatments, super sick, can't breathe, cough until you puke thing. I thought we were lucky and Gavin had already outgrown it. But, no.

Yesterday morning Gavin woke up coughing and by the time I picked him up from Grandma's house in the afternoon he really needed to use his inhaler. I thought I was prepared. I had him use his inhaler got the humidifier all ready, put the essential oil in it and turned it on for his nap. He slept for a long time and I thought that would be good for him. I thought maybe we could get it under control. But this morning proved me wrong.

It amazes me how quickly he can go from feeling well to barely moving. He woke up in the night and ended up spending most of the night on our bedroom floor. I would say he slept on the floor but I don't think what he did could be considered sleeping. He coughed and gagged and whimpered and struggled all night. Finally when my alarm went off I decided it was time to get out the nebulizer. I've been avoiding it because it makes me nervous and Gavin hates it. You would think after using it as much as he has he would be used to it but he fights it every time. Thankfully about halfway through the treatment he decided he would stop fighting and held the mask on his face. He is really such a sweet boy. Shortly after the treatment he fell fast asleep. I have talked to other parents who have kids with asthma and they always mention how their kids get so hyper after they do a nebulizer treatment and Gavin is not like that. I'm not sure if it's just because he was fighting so hard to not do the treatment that between that and struggling to breathe he just wears himself out or what the difference is.

I hope he feels better soon.

We only had one Webelos come to our den meeting last night. He is such a good kid and he finished all the requirements for his Forester pin!
Gavin took his first spin around the neighborhood on his bike. We are so ready for spring.

Scouts

We had another Arrow of Light this month and two cross overs! How awesome!?!

The boys also had a marble tournament. I think it's great how our Cub Committee always makes sure to involve the other kids that come to pack meeting. Gavin loves cub scouts.

Shave and A Haircut

Okay... maybe just a haircut.

Chris had work pictures this week and needed a haircut and he didn't really want to cut it himself so we went to dollar cuts and we got Gavin's hair cut too. Gavin was so good and still the whole time I was amazed. We really are so lucky to have this sweet guy.

He loved that they both got their hair cut at the same time. He kept telling everyone that he and Daddy both got their hair cut.

I have been so busy with cakes lately. You know you've been busy when your husband has dreams that you won't help him tie up a robber because you're too busy making cakes.

I also woke up with a pinched nerve or something in my neck yesterday... it has definitely put a kink in my schedule! I don't have time to be sick or injured. I made cake pops Monday and Tuesday, Baked a cake Tuesday night, two more last night and I need to make four more when I get home today. Thank goodness for nap time.... and the fondant colors for the cakes this week are so pretty.. I'm so excited. Decorating cakes is really something I love to do.

Lets just hope I make it though this week!

Weekends Are The Most Fun

I love weekends. I love being together with my family.

We love going to Scheels and seeing the animals and the fishes and "Jesus" aka Abraham Lincoln.

We also went to Ashley furniture because we are looking for an entertainment center or something. We haven't had any luck but Gavin found this chair that he loves.

This weekend we went to the Grizzlies Hockey game on Friday and then spent the night at Mimi and Baka's house. The kids love spending time with Mimi and Baka. I also had a cake delivery this weekend and it turned out great. You can see more of that cake on my cake blog (sweetbottomcakes.blogspot.com). I'm still working on my cake blog so it's a little bare right now.

After we delivered the cakes and Mimi took Brooklyn to get a book we went to the Gun Show. I may or may not have bribed Chris for his help with the Gun show. Chris had a good time but I'm pretty sure this picture shows how the rest of us felt about it.

And one last picture of this cute girl with her headband...
