Feeling the Winds of Change

Winds in the east, mist comin in.
Like somethin' is brewin' and bout to begin.
Can't put my finger on what lies in store,
But I fear what's to happen all happened before.

(From Mary Poppins)

I need a change.... and with the way things seem to be going I might be making one whether I want to make one or not.

I've missed blogging. I have so many pictures and I need to update on everything we've been doing and then I need to get everything printed into a book. I really think blogging is easier then scrap-booking.

Christmas was wonderful... but short. It felt like we got half of a day to spend with the family and then BOOM back to the real world of work and bills and all that good stuff. I got a sewing machine.. I've been wanting to learn to sew for quite a while so now I really can learn how to sew without having to borrow my moms sewing machine or worrying about breaking hers... although I'm a little scared of my sewing machine and I really hope I don't break it lol. I bought a few patterns and I'm going to make my mom help me with them.

I've been in the mood to make a cake. I think I might just make one for fun this week and maybe I can just use it as practice for Brooklyn's birthday since that's coming up fast. I can't believe how quick she is growing.... I can't believe how quick both of the kids are growing.

We started potty training Gavin. The first week went much better then the last couple of days. Saturday we were in a public restroom when the toilet automatically flushed while Gavin was on it. It really brought back memories of potty training Brooklyn. I had forgotten how she would say "assanick" for accident. Brooklyn was always terrified of public restroom toilets flushing and would cover her ears when they would flush.... seems like it might be something that runs in the family because Gavin is doing the same thing.

Gavin and Brooklyn both loved the movie Frozen. Gavin sings the music all day and it impresses me how much of the lyrics he knows. Gavin also loves the "What Does the Fox Say" Song... which when he sings it sounds more like "What the Fox say". I'm so grateful for that Little Ray of Sunshine.

I started running again. Ya know, new years resolutions and all ha ha. I haven't been running quite as much because I caught a little bit of a cold. I would say I got what Chris has but I'm not sure if it's the same thing. He's been sick since Christmas and has the most awful cough. I have a relatively mild cold comparatively speaking. My cold normally just bothers me at night but I do think it has made running a little more difficult and slowed me down.

Because of how Christmas holiday worked out this year we haven't seen Brooklyn since she left after Christmas. It seems like it's been so long! Gavin talks about her all the time. At times it's nice that he is by himself and gets all of our attention most of the time but sometimes I feel bad he's almost an only child I know he would love to have another sibling. We went to dinner at a friends house on Saturday. Gavin was so sweet with their baby and I know he will be such a good big brother when the time comes.

I'll work on updating my blog it might take me some time but here are a few pictures in the meantime.

Gavin loves band practice night.

Gavin loves Star Wars. He loves the light sabers but they are too expensive and dangerous ha ha.
We went to a few stores this weekend and Gavin loved the guns and the stuffed animals. I think we have a future hunter on our hands.
Working on his mustache.

It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

Somehow I didn't post this... oops.

We have been so busy but when I think back to what we've been busy with I can't remember much. I had a bridal shower for a friend and we've had work parties and...

Got Gavin a hat and gloves from Walmart for 88 cents each.... and my phone started doing weird things when I take pictures.
St. Nikolaus came and put candy in Mr. Gavin's shoes.

We have two Silly Banana Monkeys.
They had a spinning party.

Gavin likes to drink milk out of a big boy cup.

Brooklyn thinks she's so funny making crazy eyes in all our pictures.
Brooklyn helped Daddy shovel for a little bit.... and then she and Gavin ran around in the snow for a minute before I made them go back inside.
Gavin loved playing in the snow.
