Oktoberfest... Labor Day

This past weekend was a struggle. We did lots of fun things but I felt like by the time Brooklyn went back to her moms house she probably didn't remember that we did anything fun. She just had a bad weekend. I'm sure everyone has those kinds of weekends sometimes... but it is not fun.

Friday Gavin had some sort of allergic reaction to who knows what and his eyeball swelled up so big it was covering the colored part of his eye. I freaked out that he was going to go blind and that there was something really wrong. We took him to instacare and the doctor cleaned out his eye and said it should be fine by Monday. Thankfully it got better quickly. It was scary.

Saturday morning we got up and got ready to go up to Snowbird (the resort) to ride the summer rides and have lots of fun. Getting on the road proved to be a bigger task then normal and we had to go back home twice.

Once we got up to the resort we found out it was Oktoberfest... which was awesome and not so awesome. It was great in the morning before everyone got there but later in the day there were tons of people. Thankfully most of them were not there to ride the rides. Brooklyn said her favorite part was doing back flips on the tramp. She was amazing! I really thought she would just jump but she was great. She bounced on her head a few times but figured things out. Gavin even got to go on the alpine slide. I'm not sure how much he liked it. He was so still and quiet but he must of liked it because he said "fun" and "fast" when we were getting ready to go for the second time. Thanks to Mimi and Grandpa for the fun day!

Riding the lift up to the slide.

It started to rain so we waited to ride the slide for about 45 minutes and then ended up walking down and rode the slide later in the day after the rain stopped.
Sometimes you make silly faces trying to get a smile.

Gavin loves his Baka
Amanda was the chosen one.
Quack quack.

Amanda captured Gavin's duck face.

Someone found a caterpillar while we were waiting in line.

Alpen Horns... How cool?!
Such a beautiful view.
Flippin awesome. haha

After being up the mountains it was hard to come back down to the sweltering heat of the valley.

My work, almost every year for their summer party goes to a bees game. We always have a blast. Unfortunately this time the kids were exhausted and both were asleep in the car before we got there. We only made it a few innings before we had to go. It was a bummer we didn't get to stay for the fireworks I heard they were amazing.... oh well... next time.

Sunday after church and nap time we went to Grandma and Grandpa Draudt's for dinner. Brooklyn always loves going to their house and playing with Josh. I think all of the Grand kids love their uncle Josh the most.

Monday we had to get a few things done around the house but still wanted to make sure we did something fun since it was a Holiday and we had the day off. We went to see Planes and got some food at Cafe Rio which is one of Brooklyn's favorite places to eat.

It was a fun(ish) weekend. We really did a ton of fun things but I really just don't know that the kids remembered any of it when it was all said and done.

Good thing these kids are so cute :)
