Salt Lake Comic Con 2013

For Chris's birthday this year he got tickets for Comic Con. He was so excited. He's really only a little bit of a nerd :) He went all three days... but not all day long, all three days.

Saturday was a mad house at the Salt Palace. Just the ride to get there was crazy, and smelly. I was so glad Chris picked up our passes before hand because just the line to register was ridiculously long (I should have taken a picture). Chris said if we go next year he wants to dress up... ha ha we'll see if that actually happens.

The ride to Salt Lake.

We went to a panel with people from the Syfy shows "Ghost Hunters" and "Fact or Faked". They were pretty funny. The guy from Fact or Faked is actually from Utah. After the panel we just so happened to be standing behind them on the escalator and Chris made me ask them if they had heard of the "three grandmas"... which I have no idea what that is but I did it. The guy from Utah said that he had. I felt like an idiot for asking. Chris tried to come to my rescue and tell him he put me up to it but I still felt dumb.

After the panel we tried to go to the cosplay contest but got confused of where it was and when we did figure out where it was the room was filled and we didn't get to go. Boo. It was still fun to see all the people in their costumes walking around the convention.

We stood by superman on trax.
The Doctor and the Tardis
Princess Bubblegum
Han Solo and C-3PO
Some character from Assassins Creed.... the video game. (I didn't know who he was but Chris did)
Iron man.
Darth Maul
The Doctor, the Tardis and Me!
We also saw... from a distance William Shatner, Dean Cain, Adam West, a couple of the original Power Rangers (who were super short), and a few other celebrities. It cost money if you wanted to get your picture with them or to get their signatures and we weren't that into it. You could talk to them for free but I really wouldn't have anything to actually say to them so we just saw them from a distance. We even saw the line to see Stan Lee. Haha. We didn't actually see him but the line to see him was so long... probably longer then the line to get into the convention which is really saying something.

One thing that was really cool was one of the artists for the cartoon Adventure Time was there. And I haven't watch the cartoon but I know what it is because Brooklyn loves it. The Artist was nice and drew a picture of Marceline for Brooklyn.

It was a fun, crowded event. I think we'll probably go again but hopefully it won't be on Saturday next time.... I want to go on the least busy day for sure. Here are just a few more of the cool things they had at the convention.

These ^ are cakes... Can you say amazing?!!! They were made by Mad Hatter Cake Studio.
These were printed off a 3D printer so they printed out just like you see them. I've seen things like this on tv but never in person. It was pretty awesome.
Weta the company that made a lot of the props for Lord of the Rings was at the con too.
The Geek Show... Chris listens to their podcasts sometimes.

Legos... of course.
Dunna-nunna-nunna-nunna BATMAN!
Han Solo and Chris.
